Location: Louisville Armory

This course covers Advanced Techniques of using a pistol for home defense, and builds off of lessons taught in the Home Defense Pistol-1 Course.

We will cover the following subjects:

·         Shooting from Retention

·        Drawing under Pressure 

·         Home Defense Mindset

·         Scenario Development

·         Home Defense Tactics

·         Rapid ID Threat identification

·        Penetration & Over-Penetration                

·         Non-Combatants

·         Optic vs Iron Sights on Pistol

·         Shooting from Cover

·         Positional Shooting

·         Corners & Doorways

·         Shooting while Moving

·         Low-Light / No Light Shooting

·         Flashlights & Weapon Mounted Lights               

·         Shoot House Scenarios

 Again, this is NOT a “basic firearms” course. It builds directly off of drills that were taught in the Home Defense Pistol-1 Course. It is required to attend Home Defense Pistol-1, or an equivalent course taught by a competent instructor, before attending Home Defense Pistol-2

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Serviceable pistol (optic recommended but not required)

Minimum of 2 serviceable magazines

Eye and Ear protection

Serviceable holster

Flashlight

Weapon-Mounted Light (recommended but not required)

250 rounds of ammunition
