Location: Louisville Armory

This course covers the basics of using a pistol for home defense, but is not a “basic” course. We will cover the following subjects:

·         Weapons Safety & Manipulation·         

·         Home Defense Mindset

·         Scenario Development

·         Physiological Effects of Combat Stressors

·         Threat identification

·        Multiple-target Indexing               

·         Cover/Concealment in the Home

·         Shooting from Cover

·         Positional Shooting

·         Pie /Break Corners

·         Immediate and Remedial Action               

·         Dry-Fire Drills

Again, this is NOT a “basic firearms” course; it is not a “competition shooting” course; it is not a “concealed carry” course. It is recommended, but not required, that you attend our GunRunner Pistol Course, Combat Pistol Course, or an equivalent Pistol course taught by competent instructors.

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Serviceable pistol

Minimum of 2 serviceable magazines

Eye and Ear protection

Serviceable holster

300 rounds of ammunition
